Recent aggressive enforcement of the FCPA and the passage of the UK's bribery act increase the stakes for all companies with international operations.
Join Jeff Seymour, Principal, Forensic & Dispute Services, Deloitte Financial Advisory Services and Eddie Cogan, founder and CEO of Catelas,Inc. as they discuss how Relationship Forensics is changing how companies assess risk and conduct investigations in the face of increased regulatory oversight.
Few tools provide visibility into the business practices of a company. Existing solutions focus on what was communicated (content) not on how business gets done (behavior). 'Who' is potentially involved remains the most significant challenge. Collecting too many custodians increases the cost and complexity of an investigation, while collecting too few increases preservation risk while limiting the investigation. Failing to collect the right people means no 'smoking gun' is found.
Only by analyzing every communication in a company not just a sample, can all the right custodians be identified first time; and only by uncovering how business gets done can regulatory risk be detected and contained. Catelas is the first solution to allow companies to identify key people & relationships inside and outside the company before collecting a single email.
At the webinar we will discuss how Catelas supports counsel with:
- Identification: Identify all custodians for collection first time BEFORE you collect a single email - reducing risk, cost and ensuring downstream processes are focused on the right data
- Intelligent Collection: reduce collections by 90%
- Quick First Pass Review: follow relationships quickly to key content, creating a first pass review without keyword searching
- Early Case Analytics reporting: rapidly generate reports showing high risk relationships and key communications allowing counsel to make better decisions, earlier
- Insight regardless of language, privacy laws or remote location: foreign collections and translations are difficult and expensive. Catelas utilizes communication logs, which are small, portable, and devoid of content, allowing the entire communications network of a company to be uncovered
Catelas does not need to integrate with your email servers, is deployed in days and goes live in under a week. All training and deployment costs are included free of charge.
"Identifying the right people and their relationships early is essential to understanding a company's exposure to a regulatory breach. Being able to pursue an investigation without collecting data and disturbing the business both reduces costs and preserves evidence. Ultimately knowing your liability within 48 hours is essential to making the right decisions in the face of a regulatory inquiry."

The economic downturn is placing an increasing burden on corporate investigation teams. In a recent survey 42% of CISO's felt that employees made redundant represent the biggest threat caused by the economic downturn. Employees remain the weakest link for security, yet the volume of investigations required means that employee monitoring is not being adequately addressed.
Join Scott Emery, former Head of Investigations at State Street, and Eddie Cogan, founder and CEO of Catelas,Inc. as they discuss the new innovative technologies needed to detect and stop employee borne information theft without collecting a single email.
Existing tools are reactive and iterative focusing on collecting what is required as expediently as possible. But investigations often create more questions than answers, requiring repeated searches for more evidence, driving costs up.
Catelas Relationship Forensics is the first solution to provide an always-on surveillance and investigation solution allowing investigators to 'step-back' and gain an aerial perspective of 'who is involved' and 'what needs to be collected'. This ensures that the investigator is confident that the relevant data is collected, BEFORE an expensive and time-consuming collection process begins.
At the Catelas Relationship Forensics webinar we will discuss:
- Stop employee theft: automatically uncover information theft, when employees & contractors email confidential information to webmail accounts or competitors, by detecting anomalous behavior unique to such information flow.
- Prevent loss of Intellectual Property: automatically understand the relationships between key groups within your company and with external resources, without disrupting business or collecting a single email.
- Investigate incidents immediately: carry out a preliminary investigation within minutes of a reported incident and generate a Security Impact Report detailing conclusions and recommended next step for your CISO.
- Proactively monitor for suspicious activity: by building rules based on corporate security & compliance policies.
- Detect & Contain Data Leakage: automatically track 'who is speaking to whom about what' or how specific information flows within and out of your company. Uncover employee accidental leakage of important company confidential information
Catelas does not need to integrate with your email servers, is deployed in days and goes live in under a week. All training and deployment costs are included free of charge.
"Security always comes down to people. What they know and who they are telling. Catelas uncovers relationships and visually displays how people are linked together making them a must-have for any Security Investigations team."

The passing of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform & Consumer Protection Act will lead to new rules that will increase the burden and cost of compliance. We do not know specifics, but we know that new rules will lead to 1) increased enforcement/inquiries, 2) additional surveillance rules, and 3) incentives (or penalties) related to self-reporting.
Join Alan Morley, Compliance at RBS Global Banking & Markets, Chris Ekonomidis Senior Director, Business Consulting at Sapient and Eddie Cogan, founder and CEO of Catelas,Inc as they discuss the compliance & risk challenges faced by financial services firms in the wake of Dodd-Frank; and the new innovative technologies needed to address these challenges, within current budget and resource constraints.
Few tools exist that provide visibility into the business practices of a firm. Existing solutions are reactive and investigative in nature, focusing on what was communicated (content) not on how business gets done (behavior). They sample communications in an attempt to discover 'the smoking gun,' but fail to provide insight into the behaviors and relationships that represent the risk to the organization.
Communication networks are a proxy for the relationships, interactivity and information flow that underpin how commerce is transacted. Catelas is the first solution to provide true transparency into how an organization lives and breathes, allowing compliance officers to monitor behavior, data flow, and relationships inside and outside the company without collecting a single email.
At the webinar we will discuss:
- 100% Surveillance, not 1% Sampling: effectively monitor the entire company, not just a sample - with the same resources
- Identify Risk, avoid false positives: ensure compliance to Watch Lists, Restricted Lists & quickly identify breaches by visualizing who spoke to whom about what and when
- Investigate incidents 5 times faster: rapidly investigate and resolve incidents prior to collecting email
- Intelligent Collection - reduce collections by 75% pinpoint key communications for collection, reducing over-collection, processing and review
"Compliance is about having control over your environment and being able to prove it. Catelas uncovers high-risk relationships and pinpoints precisely who is talking to whom and why. These visual audit trails are essential."

The cost of doing business with the Federal Government continues to rise. FAPIIS has created new obligations for contractors and their principals to self-report violations of law or regulation. The DCAA is increasing its audit staff by 37%, while misconduct fines have increased 5-fold over the last 2 years.
Join David Kiklis, experienced IT executive and former Director of IT Strategy & Planning at Abt Associates & MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and Eddie Cogan, founder and CEO of Catelas,Inc as they discuss the new innovative technologies needed to meet the increasing burden of compliance while stemming the out of control costs associated with audits, inquiries and eDiscovery.
Your company receives [securities, ethics, FCPA, health] related DCAA requests. You have been asked to provide 200GB of email data. What do you do next? The current process is extremely labor-intensive and costly.
Until now!
Catelas assesses risk by performing early case analytics on the matter within days of the request. The cost of responding to the request is slashed; counsel is better informed, can act promptly and with greater confidence. Catelas is deployed in days, does not require that email be collected and quickly identifies the responsive communication. Additionally, Catelas monitors for future non-compliance providing transparency into how business is conducted and where risk of violation exists.
At the Catelas Government Compliance webinar we will discuss how our customers:
- Reduce Cost of responding to DCAA audits: quickly identify the responsive communications, collect only what is required
- Reduce Risk associated with non-compliance: rapidly uncover the true nature of your risk, providing better counsel earlier, strengthening your ability to negotiate and settle, before suffering expensive legal costs
- Detect & contain future non-compliance: quickly uncover the behavior and business practices that lead to violations and contain the risk to your business. Identify risk, educate employees, and reduce cost and fine

Ken Leissler, Managing Director, Protiviti and Eddie Cogan, founder and CEO of Catelas, speak about how counsel can make better decisions earlier, reduce litigation risk and shrink end to end costs
Over 95% of all civil litigation cases settle, but only after expensive discovery. Litigants often can achieve better case resolutions earlier, and dramatically reduce litigation expenses, if only the evidence collected was better understood earlier.
Not finding the right people and information quickly produces non-optimal decisions - the consequential risks and costs can dwarf the outsourced legal bill. Being smarter, earlier fundamentally changes the options available to counsel; better strategies are embraced earlier: negotiation, settlement, choice of counsel and prioritization of effort.
Current technologies & processes are linear in nature making it difficult for counsel to leverage evidence early when key decisions are being made. Until Now!
The Catelas Early Case Analytics report:
- Validates the custodian list, uncovers missing custodians and identifies the key people in the matter
- Visualizes how the key players are connected - relationship strength, shared contacts and communication activity
- Tags & presents 1% of the content for senior review within days of data load
Catelas Early Case Analytics leverages Social Network Analysis & Behavioral Analysis to quickly uncover who communicated to whom, when and about what. Catelas presents a top-down overview allowing counsel to quickly unravel relationships, information flow, missing people & evidence.
The Catelas Early Case Analytic report enables counsel to make better decisions earlier, significantly reducing operational risk and cutting downstream legal costs.
